Can wine reduce your chances of getting ED?

We’ve all heard many times before that having a glass of red wine in the evening is actually good for your health when consumed in moderation. This is true for a couple of reasons. It can be relaxing after a long and stressful day, but it is also high in antioxidants which can help protect against heart disease and reduce inflammation. Recently though, another reason has been added to that list.

In a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, researchers found that foods and drinks that are rich in flavonoids (like red wine) decreased the risk and incidence of erectile dysfunction. Other foods that are rich in flavonoids include strawberries, apples, blueberries, cherries, blackberries, radishes, and some citrus fruits as well.

The study, which included 50,000 middle-aged men, asked questions regarding erectile function, diet, smoking, lifestyle, etc. Over one third of the men in the study reported cases of ED. Those with diets high in flavonoids had reduced incidence of ED. Those with diets high in flavonoids and who exercised regularly had a 21% reduced risk of getting ED.

If you are concerned with the functionality and health of your penis, making healthy dietary choices and exercising regularly are two of the best thing you can do for yourself.
